If there were one artist in the world that could rescue Mondays, I’d confidently reply every time with the same answer : Hayley Williams.
And looks like she did just that by dropping A FULL ALBUM of 17 new songs on her website, following some hair teasing just yesterday and whispers of new solo work these past few months on socials.
Bye bye rotten tangerine, seems like Miss Williams – I’m forever nasty – is entering a new era or whatever the younglings call it.
Younglings that might not get why I’ve been laughing so hard for the past hour or so when I finally managed to enter the site – a code is seemingly sent to anyone who buys the GDY new product Ego. Thankfully the Paramore/Hayley community is full of selfless good beans happy to share the code with anyone who asks for it.
The site design is built to look like those late 90s/early 00s websites that you spent way too much time on – to be fair, it already took dozens of minutes to access them, blame those 56k modems – or your very own desktop at the time and might bring a few memories if you’re part of the millennial gang.
That Alf background alone had me rolling on the floor laughing for longer than expected. Oh the sweet nostalgia. Thank fuck someone finally heard us when we said we needed MySpace back.
Anyways – go buy GDY Ego or dig up the comments on the internet for a code and enjoy those 17 new songs (including Mirtazapine that recently premiered on WNXP) and don’t forget to hit that Misc folder containing 4 files – no spoiler – that wouldn’t surprise me if they were clues for something more.
In the meantime I’m off to listen to Hayley Williams new work like it’s 1999, quite glad we’re actually in 2025 and it won’t take me 377 days to download all those mp3s.
