Charlotte Sands – Afterlife

It’s always a good day when one of your favs releases new material, and it’s all the more true when it’s one of those artists you’ve witnessed evolving since the start.

Charlotte Sands is my little hidden gem, not that I ever participated in gatekeeping the girl, on the contrary, but rather because I can’t understand how she isn’t dominating the alt-pop scene yet. She has charted in the U.S. Top 40 for over 15 weeks since her debut in 2018 and amassed over 300 million global streams — all while remaining a fully independent artist. Impressive? You bet, and she has more than one reason to be.

Fierce, honest, and oh-so magnetic – she’s one of those artists that shine so bright you’re bound to be drawn to her eventually. One hell of a live performer too, and her stage presence will forever live rent-free in my mind. I’m not too worried about Charlotte making it big some day, to be honest, especially after hearing her latest single Afterlife released today, cementing everything I already knew about my girlie.

The thing about Charlotte is that she will always make me smile, and that doesn’t fail here.

Instantly grinning from the first notes, her unmistakable vocals soar high before you even have time to switch tabs and get back to work, contrasting with the undeniable sweetness of that hook. There’s a lightness in joy, and that’s exactly what you’ll experience here, only rooted to the ground by that embracing groove and the electrifying overall production.

It’s about a connection so deep it feels eternal, like your souls have met a thousand times before, in every universe and across every timeline” Charlotte says about that song.

And you can definitely feel the connection, both haunting and euphoric, like the promise she sings about. If you’ve ever fallen in love so hard it scared you, if you’ve ever believed in destiny, then Afterlife will feel like it was written just for you. Or maybe it’s the infinite pull of love from a freaking brilliant artist that always makes you happy.

Charlotte Sands didn’t give us a song. She gave us a forever.
And it’s now your turn to give her a chance, and who knows, maybe she’ll steal a smile from you too.
