Linkin Park: Unshatter lands in cinemas worldwide on September 30, and honestly? Some of us have been waiting for this one since a certain countdown in São Paulo back in 2024.

Directed by Joe Hahn — yes, that Joe. Now we know he wasn’t just getting his steps in going around that stage — the documentary runs 1 hour 50 and follows the whole thing from the intimate 2022 studio sessions through From Zero and the sold-out Allianz Parque nights in Brazil. Vault footage, live performances, and candid interviews with the band. Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPLEX are putting it out in standard 2D but also SCREENX and 4DX in selected rooms, because apparently sitting still is not on the menu. Fair enough.

Five days earlier, on September 25, we get the Unshatter Film Soundtrack (Live in São Paulo) — sixteen live tracks plus four interludes, spanning the whole career, including recordings that didn’t make the final cut. The live version of Somewhere I Belong is already out there if you need something to hold you over. A literal, ‘this is what you asked for’ moment in my book. Having those songs with Emily’s voice to blast whenever you want is gonna be, well, everything.

Here’s the thing that gets me. Back in June in Hamburg, I finally crossed Unshatter — the forgotten stepchild, my beloved — off my list, and the promo for this thing followed us around that city like a very unsubtle ghost. I made a joke about it at the time. Turns out they were naming an entire film after it. Fine. FINE. Point taken, lads.

And look — this was announced for 2025 and it took until now. I’m not mad. Some stories need the extra time to be told properly, and Joe said it himself: he could have made the version built from headlines. He didn’t.

Tickets are on sale now at unshattermovie.com.

September 30. Bring tissues. And from what I heard from the LPUers present at the Zurich’s screening, bring a LOT of them. And then some more.

Damn, I can’t wait.
